We have reached a birthday milestone and entered our teenage years!

How have you celebrated today?

We all dressed up as teenagers and ordered in pizza. We made jelly in a 13-shaped mould that melted, before falling apart. Luckily we’re not superstitious…

How did Clone begin?

Clone Media was conceived in a pub – The Crown in Old Basing to be exact. We (Co-founders Simon & Joel) have been friends for 18 years and back then we saw a gap in the market for a business which saved busy marketing people time.

Why did you name the business Clone?

Cloning is producing identical copies, which is what we do with print files.

What was your initial vision and how does it compare to the business today?

We wanted to give our customers a cost-effective and professional print agency experience, taking their project management headaches away. Now we’re really focused on marketing outcomes, helping businesses to identify and problem-solve, before suggesting possible solutions.

What are you most proud of?

Growing from just the 2 of us to a team of 19 and maintaining a culture where people can have fun and do great work is important to us. Covid was challenging, but thankfully we were able to grow through it and launch our brand Swagpack which has been a success.

Where would you like to be in 13 years’ time?

Simon: Retired
Joel: Making jelly full time
