A Decade of Successful Collaboration
Kress designs and manufactures high-quality power tools for the professional and high-end consumer market, including garden-specific tools such as their patented robotic mowers, leaf blowers and hedge trimmers.
At Clone, we’re proud to have partnered with Kress for over a decade, assisting with design, print, storage, and distribution of marketing materials, in addition to creating award-winning exhibition stands, branded merchandise, and more.
Groundsfest: A New Challenge and Opportunity
This year we had the opportunity to work with Kress on a brand-new garden-tool-specific exhibition: Groundsfest. The show was aimed at garden professionals and centred around bringing live product demos to consumers. Kress wanted to use the show to demonstrate their brand was here to stay, growing, and making waves in the industry.
The scope of the project was vast – a 168-square-foot indoor stand, with a 506-square-foot external space. It was going to be the biggest single exhibition stand we’d ever been involved in. The timescales were challenging. It needed exceptional attention to detail. The budgets weren’t endless. And of course, we had the highly changeable British weather to contend with.
Kay and Kirstie: A Dynamic Duo
Step in Kay – one of Clone’s Senior Account Managers – with a print career spanning twenty years, and extensive experience on both client and agency side. Kay worked alongside Kirstie, our dedicated Designer, to create initial design concepts, in regular communication with the client.
Kay made it our business to fully understand the purpose, the client’s objectives, and what Kress were trying to achieve at the show, capturing all the little details that ultimately add up on a project of this scale.
Designing an Immersive Experience
As the designs started to come together, the proposed mammoth 4-meter-high stand included a bespoke tool-showcase wall where people could get up close and personal with the tools, a private meeting room area, multiple screens showing corporate adverts and messaging, and a tool storage room. In the outdoor space, the huge demo area included a chainsaw-cutting station, a robotic mower demo lawn, and a blow-up tent where a fun leaf-blowing game took place.
Attention to Detail and Sustainability
Whilst working on approvals for the stand design and build, we also organised furniture, plants, and cool giveaways, such as eco-friendly seed bombs which fitted the garden theme and aligned with the client’s sustainability objectives. We produced branded notebooks & and pens, POS, leaflets, and catalogue stands.
We worked closely with the event organisers during both the design and build stage. Kress were the main sponsor of the show, and we produced the recycled welcome bags and lanyards for all exhibitors.
Some additional requests were catered for after the initial sign-off. We proactively worked with our supply chain to include the meeting room with a screen, space to showcase brand-new prototype tools for 2024, and a wall-mounted mower plinth.
With sustainability at the heart of this project, we exclusively used reusable graphics, ensuring future cost-savings and a reduced environmental impact.
The Result: An Award-Winning Stand
We are proud to say that we won the best indoor stand award for the category over 100m2.
Client Testimonial: Exceeding Expectations
“We wanted the stand to be bigger and better than anything we had done previously. We had never done an outside exhibition so that was also a first, and we were doing two of the biggest stands we’ve ever done at the same time.
Kirstie did a great job of applying our look and feel to the plan, and pulling the concept together. The use of the brickwork was a superb touch and just the kind of attention to detail that Clone gives us.
Kay really went the extra mile pulling together all the extra items, which I can’t thank her enough for. We really stretch the limits of her job description and she still pulls it off with a smile. It was finished to perfection with all the small details, clean, clear, perfect.
And of course, delivery doesn’t stop with the build, the professionalism that is Clone and their partners is that they follow through for the teardown and pack away which lots of other companies seem to forget about!
One of my colleagues said ‘Having the best stand at the show, both inside and out, made me feel so proud to work for Kress!’ and that was the feeling of all of the team.
Another colleague said: ‘Both inside and outside looked fantastic. I loved the little details. Definitely the best UK stand you have done for us as a company so far!’
