Our second Employee Spotlight is our Client Services Manager, Cherise Robinson. After 12 years at her previous organisation, we are extremely excited to have her as part of the Clone team.

Cherise has been with us since July 2018 and is nicely settled in,  we caught up with her to see what inspires her in life and how she is getting on at Clone Media…

Who inspires you?

My sister in law is my inspiration, she was born with Pierre Robin syndrome which meant the lower part of her jaw was smaller, resulting in difficulties breathing and eating. She also had a cleft palate which meant her mouth did not have a roof and she had to be tube fed for several months. She has a tracheostomy in her wind pipe which allows her to breath. Her condition is so rare, affecting just 1 in 10,000 people.

She has endured over 60 operations in her life so far, but always has a smile on her face. She has such a positive outlook on life and has never let her disability stop her doing anything. She has always worked full time and is currently working at Naomi’s house & Jacks place caring for children and young adults. I could talk about her for hours! But she is my inspiration.

What’s the most challenging thing you have done?

I’ve never run a marathon, jumped out of a plane or anything like that! However I will definitely be signing up to some challenges to raise money for our chosen charity Naomi’s House & Jacks Place this year.

But for now the most challenging thing for me was returning to work after my maternity leave. When you have a baby everyone tells you about the sleepless nights and countless nappies. However no one prepares you for leaving your baby after spending every second of every day with them for 12 months. I know all mum’s will be able to relate this feeling.

I wanted to quit my job altogether but I persevered, what it did make me realise was that if I’m going to leave my son every day I want it to be for a job that I really enjoy. So I did eventually quit my job then I joined Clone Media and I love it here, everything happens for a reason!

What 3 words would you use to describe Clone Media?

Fun, innovative, expanding.

What is your favourite part about working for Clone Media?

It is completely different to my previous job (pensions) which is a very welcome change, no two days are the same. I also really love the team, from working in a large corporate company to a much smaller team of people everyone works really well together. We all work really hard but then once a month we have a social team event which always fun!

What is one thing you couldn’t live without?

Apart from my Son of course, it would have to be photos. I LOVE taking photos and looking back on old photos, I have thousands on my phone and so many photo albums at home. It’s pretty amazing to be able to capture a moment in one click and look back on it forever, plus everyone loves a selfie!

How do you define success?

I think success is defined by each person individually, but for me success is being happy with what you have!

more insights.
