The Background
Dixons Travel and Urbanears, the cool global headphones brand, wanted new in-store displays at UK and Ireland airports to boost sales during the busy summer travel period. The free-standing display units (FSDU) had to be strong enough to cope with high footfall at the Dixons stores, particularly as many passengers would have been lugging bags around. The stands also had to be eyecatching and easy for shop staff to handle.
The Solution
Clone Media worked closely with Urbanears and Dixons on both the design of the FSDU and the creative. The result was a robust and visually appealing unit with two rows of hooks for the products and two shelves. We produced 26 of the units and took charge of delivery to Dixons Travel stores at airports across the UK and Ireland. To make things as easy as possible for Dixons, we assembled all the units and shipped them ready-made!
The Results
Sales of the Urbanears headphones shot up by 67% while the FSDU were on display from mid-June to early September. Shoppers were attracted by the visually appealing units, and the headphones became an ideal impulse purchase. And Dixons Travel staff were pleased they didn’t have to assemble the units themselves!
