Kainos are digital transformation experts helping organisations work smarter, faster, and better through technology and workday deployments. For their fully virtual 2021 global kickoff, they wanted to do something simple but powerful: bring people together, physically, while being online. The idea was to send branded clothing boxes to delegates ahead of the event to boost engagement, connection, and energy across three days of remote sessions.

The Challenge

With a fully virtual audience spread across the UK, Ireland, and Europe, Kainos needed a way to:

  • Offer delegates a choice of branded clothing items, colours, and sizes
  • Capture delivery details from over 1,500 attendees in a clean, scalable way
  • Ensure secure ordering with safeguards against duplicates or ineligible requests
  • Provide a great experience without creating a heavy admin burden


And importantly: it all had to feel effortless for both the client and the end user.

Our Solution

Clone created a fully managed end-to-end gifting experience, designed to be smooth, scalable, and sustainable.

We built a standalone GDPR-compliant digital data capture page where delegates could:

  • Select from eco-conscious apparel (recycled fleece, cotton polos, eco sweatshirts)
  • Choose preferred colours based on Kainos’ brand palette
  • Pick sizes and confirm individual delivery details
  • Opt out and instead choose a charity donation option


To support global rollout, we also created a branded HTML email campaign to drive participation. Behind the scenes, we added safeguards to prevent duplicate or unauthorised orders, ensuring only eligible employees could participate.

Once orders were confirmed, our fulfilment team:

  • Individually packed three branded items per delegate
  • Included a letter-pressed thank-you note from the CEO
  • Used recycled kraft packaging
  • Shipped via DHL’s green logistics option to offset carbon impact
